Hidden pixel has been uncovered!!

A big thank you to all those people that supported our £2000 homepage for the Extracare Business Challenge and to Sue Malleson for helping out with the PR. From this project you helped us to raise a grand total of £1,232 in just one month.

Last night at the awards, 'Dotty About Pixels' (our team name) won the ‘most innovative, creative and entrepreneurial’ award.

We also awarded the hidden pixel prize to K International translation services, who successfully placed their logo at the very bottom of the page.

If you still haven't placed your logo here and wish to do so, the funds raised will continue to go to the Extracare charity.

The £2000 Extracare Business challenge page goes live!!

We’re taking part in the ExtraCare Business Challenge. This means that we have to grow £50 which we’ve received from ExtraCare into a significant sum for the charity.

So we’ve created this special advertising web page and hope to raise £2000.

Please help us meet our goal – but hurry, because we have just two weeks to meet our target. All money from the sale of space on the page will go directly to ExtraCare.

It’s easy to take part by purchasing squares online for 20p each. You pay by credit card or Paypal. Simply upload your company logo or any other image and link it through to your website.

But that’s not all. There’s one special mystery square and whoever selects this will receive a luxurious gift package from Champneys Health Resorts when the challenge ends.

We can’t claim to have invented a new idea. Pixel advertising was dreamed up by a student in 2005. Within two weeks, he had raised enough money to pay for his first year at university. The reason why space on his Million Dollar Homepage sold so well was that it achieved a very high ranking in the search engines which meant every link on it also received a boost.

Interdirect’s ExtraCare page will be maintained for at least two years to allow time for online benefit for everyone who supports the project.

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust was formed in 1988 and currently operates 28 supported housing schemes including Lovat Fields in Milton Keynes. Age, health or financial means shouldn’t be a barrier to achieving an enjoyable quality of life; that’s the principle upon which the charity is founded. The Business Challenge has been generously support by NatWest.
